@AlserkalAvenue @A4Space #LEAVEYOURNOTE BOOK COLLECTION INITIATIVE GARNERS INTERNATIONAL MOMENTUM BY A NEW COLLECTIVE A4 SPACE IN ALSERKAL AVENUE



#LEAVEYOURNOTE, a first of its kind campaign in Dubai encourages the people and organisations to donate books of influence to what will become a permanent part of A4 Space, officially opening its doors on April 21, 2014 at 7pm. An area of 6000 sq ft, located in the midst of Alserkal Avenue district, boasting: free wifi, cinema room, project space, cafe, concept store and a book collection built by the people for the people. An initiative fully supported by the Alserkal family, the Patrons of the Arts.
Publications are not limited to text, format or language, and only require a personal note on the title page, explaining why this particular book is being recommended, the name of the person and the date. The project, not yet announced has already gained International interest gathering book shipments from New York, Kuala Lampur and London, inspiring all to be a part of this movement. The public of Dubai is encouraged to bring their book to the opening evening.


A4 located at the heart of the most prominent arts district- Alserkal Avenue, has become a connecting space for those starting out to meet the experts of the creative world, having the owners of the neighboring organizations become regulars. Prominent figures have become a daily part of A4 Space life, such as Mohammed Harib, creator of the Freej cartoon, Ramin Salsali, the founder of the first private museum SPM; as well as Abdelmonem Alserkal himself, the developer of Alserkal district, creating a unique platform for cross-collaboration. It will further expand its public programming; engaging the public of Dubai by welcoming institutions and acclaimed organizations to hold lectures, talks, debates, screenings and other; all free to the public. Previous programming has included DIFF, Campus Art Dubai, Design Days Dubai, Sharjah Art Foundation and AAVS to name a few. A4 is the first dynamic space of this kind, creating a free platform for freelancers, writers, designers, artists and all creatives alike to work within a commissioned oak installation by designer Fadi Sarieddine, expanding over two floors with shelving and cacoon shaped workspaces throughout.
As a collective space, A4 encourages artists and designer sales through STORiEs concept store, enabling the audience to purchase unique fashion, prints and sculpture pieces. Delicious food and pastries will be served by The Appetite Café, encouraging people of all ages, backgrounds and interests to gather for a meal or a hearty cup of coffee. The spacious project space, with natural daylight and a separate street entrance, is ideal for pop-up art exhibitions, fashion launches, photoshoots, events, press conferences, or projects proposed by the creative community.
With multiple spaces, including the headquarters offices for Alserkal Avenue team, A4 will become a heartbeat of the Alserkal district through art, film, design, literature, music and other projects dedicated to inspire and drive the new creative generation of Dubai.
