Manchester City FC @MCFC expands School of Football in Abu Dhabi

Manchester City FC has announced the arrival of a new full-time UEFA qualified coach to further enhance the club’s School of Football in Abu Dhabi.

Manchester City’s School of football already provides highly skilled football coaching and fitness sessions to a large number of players in the capital and the club are committed to enhance the experience further.
The new coach, Alan Dixon, joins the team of coaches in Abu Dhabi this week – bringing the team up to a total of five UEFA qualified coaches, all have worked for the Barclays Premier League club in Manchester and bring with them decades of experience.
Head coach at the Manchester City School of Football in Abu Dhabi, Simon Hewitt, said: “Everyone at Manchester City is really excited at the way the School of Football in Abu Dhabi continues to grow, and we are dedicated to making the coaching and experience the best for all participants.
“We are coaching children in the same way our academy players back in Manchester are coached, focusing on technical development, physical development, social development and effective decision making.’’
“With the team of coaches increasing, we can focus even more on age appropriate coaching and also learning life skills through football.’’
New coach Alan Dixon added: “I was out in Abu Dhabi when we first launched the School of Football and the growth is phenomenal. I can’t wait to get back out on the pitches and coach these great young players.”
The Manchester City FC School of Football is held at Zayed Sports City with coaching sessions after school every weekday and then a thriving ‘Soccer Saturday’ morning where young players have the chance to hone skills learnt in competitive games.
Anyone from the age of 6 to 16 can take part with all School of Football players getting a full MCFC kit when they sign-up.
