Google and Unilever announced today the launch of a dedicated hub on YouTube which aggregates content from premium channels across MENA. The hub will feature more than 500 shows with upwards of 25,000 episodes with content that ranges from comedy, action, drama, religious and more.

The dedicated hub aggregates premium content from the top 20 Arabic entertainment channels across MENA such as Aljadeedonline, AlNahar, Temsa7ly, Cairocentric, CBC, Dream, LayektharShow, Telfaz11, Arabiadrama, Dream TV, Khalejia TV, Melody, Melody Aflam, MTVlebanon, Rotana Cinema TV, Rotana Masriya, Alaan, Melody Drama TV, ElWady Drama and Roya TV.

“This is the first project of its kind in MENA.”  stated Alfonso De Gaetano, Industry leader in the GCC. He added, “In addition to bringing diverse content which appeals to many tastes, the hub also highlights a marked increase in premium Arabic content on the Web.”

The launch of this hub comes in the wake of last year’s successful Ramadan series hub which was also sponsored by Unilever. The hub featured content from various media partners across the region with shows and programs focused around Ramadan.

“We are always keen on investing in digital innovations that are tailored to our consumer needs,” commented Madhusudhan Rao, VP, Marketing, Unilever, North Africa and Middle East. “There is a strong demand for high quality Arabic content in the region, and with this new platform, we are delighted that some of our beloved brands like Lipton and Knorr will be bringing great online viewing experiences to millions of people around the region.

The hub provides a one-stop shop for Arabic speakers in MENA and across the world to find their favorite shows, programs, serials and content in one dedicated channel. The hub enables users to watch what they want, when they want and on the device of their choice.
