Klayya Bakery & Sweets Supports Emirati Artistic Talent in the Spirit of Ramadan with ‘Klayya Lantern’ Event

Klayya Bakery & Sweets, Dubai’s favourite authentic Emirati bakery, has recently launched an initiative promoting Emirati artist talent and giving back to the community in the spirit of Ramadan and Zayed Humanitarian Day. This was marked by the successful “Klayya Lantern” event held at the bakery on the 28th of July. Fifteen Emirati lanterns were designed by fifteen Emirati artists, each producing an individual and unique artwork. The lanterns were sold during the event and all proceeds were donated to Dar Al Ber Society in order to help vulnerable families during Ramadan and Eid.

At the event, which was held in collaboration with Emirati artist Fatima Al Mulla, the lanterns were prominently displayed throughout the bakery, where guests were able to not only view the talented designers’ work, but also interact with the artists and understand the inspiration behind their creations.

The ‘Klayya Lantern’ initiative is aimed at supporting a new generation of local creative talent as well as promoting Emirati art and food in the spirit of giving back during Ramadan.
The list of participating artists included Fatima Al Mulla, Hamdan Al Shamsi, Khalid Bin Hamad, Emirates Diaries, Khaloodies, Afra Bin Dhaher,  Sheika Bin Dhaher, Wafa Al Marzouki, Khawla Darwish, Sara Al Arif, Keswah, Latifa Al Shamsi, Alia Al Marri, Majeda Ahmed Al Musalli and Hessa Al Serkal.

The ‘Klayya Lantern’ initiative is closely aligned with Owner and Founder, Asma Al Falasi’s core value of encouraging and supporting local talent, food, tradition and culture. Ms Al Falasi is a young female Emirati entrepreneur herself and aims to share her passion for local food, heritage and culture with the Dubai community.
A raffle was held at the end of the event and three lucky winners will get to experience an authentic Emirati breakfast for two at Klayya Bakery & Sweets.
