ZAYED SPORTS CITY FUNDRAISER AIMS TO MAKE DREAMS COME TRUE FOR SICK CHILDREN

Zayed Sports City will host a charity bowling tournament on April 27th, 2013, that aims to make the dreams of ill children come true.
Hundreds of people are expected to converge on the community sports hub to take part in the ZSC Sport Relays event that will bring together friends, family and sports fanatics from all over the UAE.
Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Sheikha bint Saif Al Nahyan, the ZSC Sport Relays aims to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a charity that grants children with life-threatening illnesses the chance to live their dream.
The ZSC Sport Relays is a 12 hour event that focuses on bowling, one of the country's most popular sports, for a good cause.
The aim of the organisers is to raise AED200,000 and teams of between 4 and 7 can register now at a cost of 200AED for adults and AED100 for children. This entitles the team to two hours of bowling. Each AED100 extra raised adds an additional hour and if a team raises AED1000, the lane stays open for 12 hours.
For the non-bowlers there is also an opportunity to register a football team. Contact www.zsc.ae for more information and to register your team.
Teams can pass the metaphorical baton from teammate to teammate when they get tired and with hours of continuous bowling for each team, participants will need to muster will power and stamina as well money for a good cause.
Barry Bremner, General Manager at Zayed Sports City said: “The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a fantastic cause that deserves the support of everyone within Abu Dhabi.
“As a sports facility that sits at the heart of community, we feel strongly about giving back to those in need.
“We hope that by bringing people together for a sporting marathon  we will help raise awareness and vital funds for a very deserving charity.
“This event is all about taking part and doing your bit for a worthy cause, rather than about competition. We would urge the whole community to come out and support it.”
Hani Al-Zubaidi, CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation UAE echoed the sentiment.
“The event is a unique way to raise money to support us in granting special wishes for children living with a life threatening condition while they endure difficult times,” he said.
“We are delighted to partner with Zayed Sports City and become the charity benefactor for the relays and anticipate the event will be a tremendous success."
All sponsorship proceeds will be donated directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
