The Reptile Village at Global Village, the
region’s leading Cultural, Shopping and Entertainment family outdoor
destination, is present this season with 72 different species of the rarest
snakes, Iguanas, hedgehogs, and turtles as well as wild lizards. This rare
collection of wildlife is entirely non-poisonous and has to date received a
large turnout of the public who wish to see reptiles and learn about them and
where they originate from.

Ali, the founder and owner of the Reptile Village at Global Village commented
on the quality of reptiles on display this year to the audience: “I make sure
that I participate in the global village every year since my first
participation in 2001, and this year I decided to participate with various
species, 72, of non poisonous snakes. This collection includes snakes brought
from the United States, Indonesia, Thailand, China and further North, as well
as rare types and varieties of lizards, iguanas, hedgehogs and turtles."
He adds:
" Global Village is full of many events from around the world, something
which is virtually reflected in the snakes on display at the Reptile Village as
they have also been brought in from around the world for the pleasure and
knowledge of the audience here.” He continues; “There are various exotic types
of snakes in the Reptile Village, of various shapes and sizes, but the most
popular species here are Royal Snakes, also referred to as "King
Snakes", or “Milk” Snakes, or even “Corn” Snakes, and all are non-poisonous
species.
Ghobash
notes that the presence of these snakes in the Global Village has been assured
under the strictest forms of security and safety controls, and all have
obtained health certificates prior to display. He added that Global Village has
provided a favorable environment for all the reptiles in terms of lighting,
temperature and adequate food.
Ghobash
goes on to explain that within the lizard display is the Green Iguana of South
Africa, as well as lizard known as the two-headed lizards because they disguise
their looks in order to seize prey through camouflaging their skin color to
blend with their environment as well as tuck in their tail which makes them
look two-headed.
Ghobash
goes to further share that feeding the reptiles’ costs about 1000 AED weekly
and each of them gets fed in the morning prior to the opening of Global
Village, and each gets a regular medical examination to insure both health of
the creature and safety of the visitors.
Ghobash
also thanks the management of Global village for encouraging young
entrepreneurs in various fields and ages and helping them make their projects a
success. He also commended Global Village management for cooperating with him
over the past 11 years and dedicating space for the Reptile Village, a feature
the crowds have grown accustomed to over the years.
In addition
to entertainment, shopping and getting to discover and learn about new cultures
from 65 different countries, the Reptile Village, affectionately referred to as
“the Amazon”, is considered by visitors as one of the most exciting
educational stop at Global Village.
